Mikel Arteta hopes that other Arsenal!!

players will follow in the footsteps of Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazil international has renewed his contract and will remain with the club until 2027.

After Gabriel Martinelli signed a new contract with Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has turned his attention to extending the terms of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba's contracts.

According to the PA news agency, Arsenal has the option to extend Martinelli's contract for an additional year, which would keep him with the team until 2027.

The Gunners are currently leading the Premier League with seven goals from the Brazil international.

The deal was made public on the eve of Saturday's trip to face Everton, after the 21-year-old had been in talks since the start of the season.

Arteta commented on the extension of one of his key players, "It is great news."

“It is great to see them happy and willing to commit to the club and what we want to do for the future because obviously we want to build on all the talent and youth we have in the squad.

He is a player with tremendous potential who is already performing at a very high level despite having a great deal of room for growth.

“I think in all departments, to be fair, when you ask him, he can develop physically, mentally, develop in terms of consistency, develop defensively, in the final third and the spaces he occupies, and his numbers can improve, but he is so willing, that is the best thing about Gabi,” according to the coach. "I think in all departments, to be fair, when you ask him."

Both Saka and Saliba are expected to agree to new terms soon for extending their stays at the Emirates Stadium.

When asked about their contact, Arteta seemed at ease, adding, Clearly, one part of the strategy is to extend the contracts of our club's top players and commit them to the future.

“We are attempting to accomplish that; we have begun with Gabi, which is encouraging news; the remaining tasks will be completed as soon as possible; we must agree on that.

“I see everyone really happy and eager to continue at the club; however, we must meet everyone's expectations, and timing is crucial in this regard,” says the manager.

Arteta has a poor track record at Goodison Park, where Arsenal has lost both of his games as manager.

Thomas Partey may be able to play despite having an MRI scan after suffering an injury during the FA Cup loss to Manchester City. However, Emile Smith Rowe has been ruled out of the match.
